Symptom Problem Solution
Slow reponse or Dirty pH electrode Soak the electrode tip
excessive drift in HI 7061 solution for
30 minutes
Reading fluctuates Clogged/dirty junction Soak the electrode tip
up and down (noise) or low electrolyte level in warm HI 7082
(refillable electrodes) solution for one hour,
then rinse it with
distilled water
(refill with fresh
electrolyte if necessary)
Blinking full scale Reading is out of range

Blinking "°C" (or "°F") Temperature probe is not connected or broken
"WRONG" & Calibration error Check buffer solution or

Note: For field applications, it is always recommended to keep a conditioned spare elec-
trode handy. When anomalies cannot be resolved with simple maintenance, change
